The Korte Company is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our project in Dumas, TX to act as the primary point of contact for the owner. This position will be responsible for ensuring the general contractor (GC) is managing the project in accordance with the established documents and approved quality control plan. The ideal candidate will have experience in the Healthcare construction industry with a successful history of construction management.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Evaluate the project schedule for completeness and accuracy
  • Evaluate the performance of the GC relative to the schedule on regular milestones, but not less than monthly
  • Assist the GC in identifying corrective actions required to bring the project back into schedule compliance, if necessary
  • Collaborate with the owner to review and respond to any issues to keep project moving on schedule
  • Participate as owner's rep in all onsite meetings, activity pre-job meetings, and inspections
  • Review any RFP or supplemental instructions issued by the architect to evaluate cost and risk impacts to the owner
  • Review any pricing received from the GC for accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain daily activity logs and perform inspections on any ICRA/ILSM/SWPP protections
  • Document any deficiencies to the GC for correction
  • Coordinate the scheduling, delivery and review of all 'Owner required' tests, inspections, and reports as required by law or the Contract Documents such as structural, mechanical, and chemical tests, tests for air and wind pollutions and tests for hazardous materials
  • Assist the owner and architect with planning and implementing transition space between multiple phases of the project

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional in actions and appearance
  • Effective interactions with customers, subcontractors, employees and assistants
  • Strong computer skills
  • Previous experience with P6 is preferred

 

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE

Qualified applicants will have:

  • Degree in Construction Management or Construction Engineering or Civil Engineering
  • 10 years experience in the construction Healthcare industry
  • 5 years experience in a Construction Manager or similar role
  • Past experience in project organization and scheduling while remaining within budget
  • Past experience with Texas Healthcare additions and renovations
